In retrospect, the reason why I couldn't quit the health center was because I didn't have the courage to leave. But it also took a lot of courage to survive. Those who left were not left, but chose not to remain, and those who left were not left, but chose not to leave. Now I know. Whatever you choose, you can walk that path silently. Even if I win and lose, my experience will make me an experienced sailor.

돌이켜 생각해보건대, 도중에 그만두지 못했던 것은 떠날 용기가 없어서였다. 그러나 남은 채 버텨내는 데도 역시 대단한 용기가 필요했다. 떠난 이들은 남지 못한 게 아니라 남지 않기를 선택한 것이었고, 남은 이들은 떠나지 못한 게 아니라 떠나지 않기를 선택한 것이었다. 이제는 안다. 어느 쪽을 선택했든 묵묵히 그 길을 걸으면 된다는 것을. 파도에 이겨도 보고 져도 보는 경험이 나를 노련한 뱃사람으로 만들어주리라는 것을.
